OUR FOCUS
Democracy Caledon is concerned with the process of municipal government and holding Caledon Council accountable for their actions as elected representatives.
Democracy Caledon is non-partisan and seeks to insure that the mayor and councillors support the municipality and its operations while ensuring that the public and municipality’s well-being and interests are maintained.

When issues before council arise that bypass or circumvent procedural process, Democracy Caledon seeks to bring awareness to the public and amplify the voices of individuals and community groups seeking transparency and accountability from Caledon Council.

AT ISSUE
12 Zoning
By-Laws
We are taking action to ensure the Town of Caledon does not become a template for developer-led land use planning in the Province of Ontario.
We are committed to pressuring the Town to reverse these 12 re-zonings and start from scratch. This means conducting necessary financial and servicing studies, performing the essential environmental assessments, and engaging in meaningful consultations with the public and First Nations.
'Swan Lake'
A fully rehabilitated 90-acre property with a 44-acre groundwater fed lake intended to be recreational or agricultural land by our own Ministry of Natural Resources has been green-lighted by Caledon's Mayor and Council to let a developer put 281,000+ dump truck loads of GTA construction fill directly into a 44 acre lake connected to the source of residents drinking water.
