  • This is to inform you that the Town of Caledon has received an application to amend the official plan. Statutory public meeting will be held to provide those interested in an opportunity to make representation with respect to the application. Your input and insight will inform and she plans to meet the needs of the community.


The applicant has submitted an official plan amendment application for a new secondary plan that will include policies to facilitate the development of approximately 7600 new residential units with a population of 24,500 people across a total area of approximately 355 hectares (877 acres). The secondary plan will also include policies relating to the natural heritage system, community amenities, including schools and parks, a connected road, an active transportation network, and a mix of land uses, including commercial/mixed use. The estimated density will be approximately 80 residents and jobs per hectare.


The lands are currently designated new community area in the future Caledon official plan. The applicant is proposing to re-designate the lands as neighbourhood area, neighborhood, center, urban corridor, and natural features and area.
